Returning for its 47th year, the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta is back from 8–10 August for a spectacular three-day celebration of hot air ballooning. Held at Ashton Court Estate, this free-to-attend event draws crowds from across the world to witness over 100 hot air balloons take to the skies.

Confirmed special-shape balloons this year include the UP balloon, Astro the Alien, Rupert the Bear, Slick the Dragon, and the incredible 143-foot Oggy the Friendly Dragon, visiting from Albuquerque for the first time.

Visitors can enjoy extended ‘Meet the Pilots’ sessions, hop into a real balloon basket, try a burner blast, and capture a selfie with a balloon crew. The immersive In The Clouds experience offers a unique chance to step inside a cold-inflated balloon with atmospheric sound and visuals simulating flight.

While entry is free, car parking fees apply to help support the non-profit event's running costs. It's a must-see highlight of Bristol’s summer calendar.
