Bristol Cathedral warmly welcomes the community for a series of carol singing events this Christmas.

With the exception of Carols by Candlelight which is ticketed, there is no booking or payment required for these carol services.

Carol Concerts at Bristol Cathedral

Sunday 30th November 2025 - Advent Carols
4 - 4:45pm

Begin Advent at the Lord Mayor’s Chapel: Mark the start of Advent with a short, reflective carol service in the peaceful setting of the Lord Mayor’s Chapel. Join in much-loved carols and hear beautiful anthems sung by the Chapel Choir, as we pause and prepare for the coming of Christ.

Come to reflect, sing, and experience the beauty of Advent music in one of Bristol’s most historic and atmospheric chapels.


Sunday 30th November 2025 - Candlelit Advent Service
6 - 7:30pm

Experience the beauty of Advent in this moving candlelit service at Bristol Cathedral. Beginning in darkness, everyone lights a candle and shares the flame, as the Cathedral Choir processes through the building.

This peaceful, atmospheric service lasts around 90 minutes and is open to everyone. Our friendly Welcome Team will be on hand to help.


Friday 12th and Saturday 13th December 2025 - Carols by Candlelight
7:30 - 9:30pm

An unmissable festive treat, this ticketed concert is the perfect way to enter into the Christmas spirit.

The Cathedral Choir sings music old and new with opportunities to join in with singing traditional carols in the stunning candle-lit surroundings of Bristol Cathedral. Enjoy seasonal readings read throughout the evening by John Telfer, from BBC Radio 4 The Archers. Fun for all the family.

A bar will be available inside the Cathedral selling a range of drinks alcoholic and soft drinks to purchase before the concert and during the interval. Book tickets here


Sunday 14th December 2025 - Pride Carol Service
5 - 6:30pm

Join us for a Pride Carol Service in Bristol, hosted at the historic Lord Mayor’s Chapel. In partnership with Christians at Bristol Pride, this inclusive Christmas carol service provides a safe and welcoming space for the LGBTQ+ community and allies to celebrate the festive season together.

Wednesday 17th December 2025 - Toddlers' Carols
9:30–10:00am / 11:00–11:30am / 2:00–2:30pm

Bring your little ones to Toddlers’ Carols, a joyful and relaxed celebration created especially for babies, toddlers, and pre-school children.
The Cathedral will be beautifully decorated for Christmas, and we will sing favourite carols and share a simple retelling of the Nativity story. Full of music, excitement, and a wonderful festive atmosphere.

There’s no need to worry about noise or wriggles. Everyone is welcome just as they are. Choose from three session times.

A perfect way for young families to celebrate the joy of Christmas together.


Thursday 18th December 2025 - Beer and Carols (on College Green)
6 - 9pm

Enjoy an evening of festive carols, warm drinks, and good company in the heart of Bristol!

Join the band from St Nicholas Church and The Cathedral Choir for a lively sing-along of favourite Christmas songs in a welcoming, joyful atmosphere. Warm up with seasonal drinks from our bar as you soak up the festive spirit.

Sing along to timeless carols and a few modern favourites, share laughter with friends and family, and celebrate the joy of the season together.

Everyone is welcome and there’s no need to book or pay. Wrap up warm and come along for a night of music, community, and Christmas cheer.


Sunday 21st December 2025 - Family Carols
3:30 - 4:30pm

Join us for a fun and interactive celebration! Children (and adults!) are invited to dress up as shepherds, sheep, angels, and wise people, adding to the festive spirit.

Charlie the Donkey will also be making an appearance!

It’s a great way for the whole family to engage with the Christmas story and enjoy a lively and memorable experience together
