Children aged 8-12 are invited to get hands-on with nature this May Half Term at a free sunflower planting workshop hosted by Heart of BS13.

FREE Half Term Sunflower Planting Workshop

  • Date: Tuesday 26th May 2026
  • Time: 10:30am - 12:30pm
  • Location: Heart of BS13 Roundhouse, Hartcliffe, Bristol
  • Price: FREE
  • Ages: 8-12 year olds

This fun and inclusive workshop is part of a series of seasonal activities designed to help children build creativity, confidence and a stronger connection with nature through hands-on outdoor experiences.

During the session, children will plant their own sunflowers while learning about how plants grow and why sunflowers are one of the most exciting plants for children to grow at home.

Kids can enjoy watching their sunflower shoots grow taller throughout the summer, track their progress and eventually collect seeds from the finished flowers.

  • A nutritious Heart of BS13 frozen meal to take home

The sessions are designed to support wellbeing, creativity and positive community engagement during the school holidays.

Who Can Attend?

These free places are available for children aged 8-12 living in BS13 and surrounding areas. Younger siblings are welcome to attend if supervised by an adult.

Important Information

  • Location: Use the gate next to 63 Blagrove Crescent, Hartcliffe, BS13
  • Clothing: Please dress appropriately for the weather as activities will take place outside
  • Parking: Limited on-street parking available
